A vertical line is drawn at 5% staple in the staple diagram.  A
horizontal line is drawn at the meeting point of 5% staple
(vertical line with curve).  The distance shown in mm in the
dimensions `a'.

GUIDE LINES FOR DRAFTING ARRANGEMENT SETTINGS :  The alphabet `a'
of the table below corresponds to 5% staple value.

Example:  Staple diagram as per figure
               Longest fibre  :    45 mm
               5% staple `a'  :    34 mm
               Lap weight     :    60 gms/mtr
Distance between bearing of rollers in main drafting zone 5%
     staple a: 34 - 28 mm = 6 mm setting distance
Distance between bearing of rollers in main drafting zone 5%
     staple a: 34 - 27 mm = 7 mm setting distance
The recommended disstance are to be considered as nominal
     values.

The above values will differ slightly depending up on the shape
of the staple diagram.
     Ex:- Zone setting is :
Distance between rollers + roller dia + roller dia
                              2 * 2
DRAFTS :

1. CONSTANT OF MAIN DRAFT :
When break draft is 1.34      :    0.0746 (Constant)
When break draft is 1.024     :    0.0925 (Constant)

Main draft : Constant * number change gear (Wn)

2. CALCULATION OF NUMBER CHANGE GEAR (Wn) :
                                       Total draft
     Number change gear (Wn):----------------------------------
constant of maindraft * break draft
3. TOTAL DRAFT :

Feed gm/mtr * no of doublings
     Total Draft :  -------------------------------
                              Delivery gm/mtr
4. BREAK DRAFT :
Break draft can changed by inter changing the double gear
     35/40 (See in gearing diagram)
Break draft 1.34 :  While working on the long staple it is use
ful to operate the machine with 1.34 break draft.  In this case
40 T gear is in mesh with 18 T gear to the third roller.
Break draft 1.025:  While working with medium and long staple it
is use ful to operate the machine with 1.025 break draft.  In
this case 35 T gear is in mesh with 18 T gear to the third
roller.

LAP WEIGHT (gm/mtr) :    To get best results in comber the
following values of the lap weight shall not be exceed,  because
the lap weight depends on both the micronaire value and no of
fibres in cross section.

gm/mtr|    Nm   | Micronaire   | no of fibres in cross sec
          |         |              |

SIG NAL LAMPS IN SL & RL:
1. RED LAMP:
    1. If the lamps glows it indicates the building of on
       calender roller.
    2. Sliver breakage or can exhaust time SL, lap exhaust
       time in RL
    3. Drafting lapping time this lamp   will be glowbed
2.YELLOW LAMP:
    1. If this lamp glows whenever the spool magazine is empty
    2. Lap storage rack is full
    3. Doffing time also the lamp glows
3. GREEN LAMP:
This lamp glows to show the readiness of the machine.

SOME SETTINGS IT EFFECTS:
1. Brake: The break is mounted on the long shaft it controlled
by the value s8. The mono meter is in control penel is to be
adjusted, so that the starting of the machine takes 1-2sec.
The pressure must be kept 1kg/cm2
2. GUIDE SHEET: The function of the delivery table in conjunction
with curved sheets is to lay the webs perfectly one upon the
other. The guide plates is to be installed that their edges
are set parallel exactly with each other.
3. TABLE DELIVERY ROLLERS: The bottom rollers driven by a pair of
hylam bevel gears in longitudinal shaft. This wheel requires
less care than metal and there fore frequent lubrication is
   not required.
4. TENSION MECHANISM: The selection of tension drafs is very
important for proper doubling of six webs. The draft between
front roll to calender roller and over curve plate controlled
by the delivery gear (wa) between table calender roll to
calender roll controlled by (wt). Adjusted both to have
minimum tension. The best method to select the no of teeth
   gear required according count.
5. FEED END; The lap is placed on the two feed rollers provided
with flutes. At the sides the lap guidestable bars, these
adjustable bars adjusted to the nominal lap width + 5mm.
while the diameter is at  largest.

AUTOLAP OPERATION; (The lap changes take places follows)
COMMENDER 1; Preselection length of laps less then 1 meter, switch
of the motor indirectly and switch on the value s1 and s2.
-The machine stops and the clutch K disengages
-The lapping apparatus is dis connected; the lap is relieved
-Piston*turns the lap roller by 1.3m and the lap is served.
COMMENDER-2; Final selection comes into action. Desired length of
lap : and switch on the value s3 (discs-up & discs open) Lap
heads are lifted and the lap is released. The limit switch b5
is actuated at the sametime.

LIMIT SWITCH B-5:
1. Switch on the values s4 s5 (magazine lifted & downed )
2. Lap spool magazine swing in wards. Pushes the full lap out
   and supplies fresh lap spool.
3. Spool magazine on reading its and position actuates the limit
   switch b6.
LIMIT SWITCH B-6:
1. Switch on the values s6 and s7 (lapstand piston pushed  come
   back)
2. full lap which as been pushed out is pushed aside on
reaching the end of its stroke. The piston V actuates
   limit switch b12.
LIMIT SWITCH B-12:
1.Resets the commender.
COMMENDER V-1: Switch off values s1,s2 and s3. Clutch K re-
engages, severing piston * turns to starting position.
3.  Lap heads grip the lap spool, move downward away from
switch B5 actuates the limit switch B14
imit switch B14
1.switch off values S4 and S5
2.Now spool magazine moves back away from limiit switch B6 and
  actuates limit switch B13
3.the return motion of the magazine is thus delay do until the
limit switch b14 is pressed. This helps to avoid the rubbing
of lap discs with spool magazine.
4. Spool magazine moves back away from limit switch b6 and
   actuaes b13.

LIMIT SWITCH B-13:  Switch on the machine again.
EMERGENCY SWITCH:     Can be operated in case of any disturbance
in order to renitiate the lap change.

SWITCH POSITIONS:
                  1.Normal running
                  2.New lap (actuates value s2-s3-s4and
                    s-5 )
When the switch points to this symbal
the lap headds raised and spool magazine
                    swings in.
                  3.Free lap (actuates s-2 and s-3 )
If the swich points to this symbal, the lap
heads are raised but spool magazine does not
                    swing in.

SAFETY SWITCHES:
Limit swich b-7:  As soon as the lap heads have reached their
lowest position (with spool ) they actuate limit switch b-7. The
latter keeps the machine switch on and transgers the switch off
function to the time relay d-11. This time relay (0.2 - 5sec)
stop the machine again if the lap heads donot raise correctly.(if
the lap does not warp it self round the spool)
Limit switch b-8:  Switches off the machine if the couner fails
to work.
Limit swich b-9:  Prevent the machine from running if the lap
spool has not been put it.
Limit switch b-10:  Stop piston for pushing if the lap storage
rack is fully occupied.
Limit switch b-11: Prevent the machine from running if the front
door is not closed.
ELECTRO VALUES: Electro values s1,s3,s5 and s7 discharge air when
no energised. Electrovalues s2,s4,s6,s8 and s10 discharge air
when energised. Electrovalues s9 discharges air when enerised
(for RL only)
